Request from ARC for a couple of volunteers

Dear Cambridge NAS,

We are once again running professional training courses

on diagnostic instruments, and are seeking volunteers to assist with our

course in September. We seek an able adult or adolescent with a diagnosis of

AS, HFA or ASD to come in on Tuesday September 14th 2010 between 1.30 and

2.30pm to do a friendly interview in front of 12 professionals who are

learning how to do interview assessments for ASD. 6 people will take turns to

do one or two activities with the volunteer. There are no 'tests' and it

should be fairly relaxed.

We are also seeking a preschooler with a diagnosis to come in on Thursday

September 16th between 1.30 and 2.30pm for a play-based session, again with

12 observers, and with up to 6 people taking turns to do a playful activity

with the child. The session is designed to be 'fun' and again does not

involve any testing. Parents can of course be present throughout.

For each volunteer we are able to offer a payment of £60 for your time, and

we also provide a short feedback once the training has concluded. The venue

for each session is the Moller Centre in Cambridge.

Can anyone who is interested please email me on dr.fjscott@virgin.net

many thanks!

Dr Fiona Scott, Chartered Psychologist Spectrum SCL & Visiting Academic

University of Cambridge ARC.
