Workshops on improving social and communication skills in children with ASD

I am a parent of a child who has a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome, living
locally, and I regularly attend the Coffee and Chat meetings at the Meadows
Centre, and have also recently been attending the Meet and Play sessions in
Cherry Hinton, at the suggestion of Judith Middleton (CNAS Committee member).

I am concerned about the challenges faced by parents of children with ASCs,
many of whom do not seem to be receiving a great deal of support or information
about positive interventions to help their child(ren).  As a result, I have
decided to pilot a series of workshops this Autumn, to offer strategies and
approaches which I have found helpful with my own child, and which have greatly
improved his social and communication skills.

There will be a fee for the course, as I am incurring costs of hiring a room,
advertising, etc, but my aim is to make the workshops as accessible as

A note from CNAS about the workshop:

A parent with a child who has a diagnosis of Asperger's  syndrome is organising
a series of workshops for fellow parents on how can you help improve your
child's social and communication skills, based on her personal experience.
 The first meeting will be on September 17,  8.00-9.30 pm (8 weekly sessions) at the Centre at St Paul's, Hills Road,
