Volunteers (male, 18-35) wanted for a new study into object vision in autism (updated)

Researchers at the Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit and the Autism Research Centre in Cambridge are looking for volunteers for a new study into object vision in autism.

Research Request

Dear Parents,

My name is Adelle, and I am a PhD student at the University of Cambridge. I’m from Malaysia, and the first aim of my project (to be conducted with two other students, Ruth and Daisy) is to compare the experiences of families with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the Western and the developing world.  To this end, Ruth and I would like to conduct short phone interviews (15-20 minutes) with parents of children (of any age) with ASD living in the UK or in Malaysia.

Parents of children with ASD wanted to volunteer for research project

Parents of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder are invited to participate in a research experiment that investigates attentional bias when looking at faces, as part a study that explores to what extent characteristics of face processing seen in people with ASD occur in people who do not have ASD.

Request from ARC for a couple of volunteers

Dear Cambridge NAS,

We are once again running professional training courses

on diagnostic instruments, and are seeking volunteers to assist with our

course in September. We seek an able adult or adolescent with a diagnosis of

AS, HFA or ASD to come in on Tuesday September 14th 2010 between 1.30 and

2.30pm to do a friendly interview in front of 12 professionals who are

learning how to do interview assessments for ASD. 6 people will take turns to

do one or two activities with the volunteer. There are no 'tests' and it

University of Cambridge Research into Autism and Psychotic Illness

We would like to speak with people with autism or an autism spectrum condition, like Asperger’s syndrome, who have experienced a psychotic illness. This means people who have seen things that weren’t really there, heard voices in their head, or had strange beliefs about the world and had a doctor or psychiatrist tell them they had psychotic illness. It may be called bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, or something different.

Volunteers needed for Autism Research Centre study on Visual Perception

We are looking for volunteers to take part in a pilot study that is taking place at the Autism Research Centre. The study is called "Paying Attention to the Visual System: A Study of Motion Perception in ASC." We are studying motion perception to learn about attentional mechanisms that implicitly modulate visual perception in autism.

We are currently looking for individuals, male or female, over 18 years of age, with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome.
